I design the
screens people use
eight hours a day.

I've spent twenty years in design, the last decade focused on UX and product, mostly in healthcare software.

I've worked on everything from patient charts and billing workflows to AI, design systems, and modernizing legacy products. These days, I'm just as interested in the systems behind the screens as the screens themselves.

It's not always glamorous work, but it's the stuff that makes a difference in someone's day.

Selected Work

Mostly the stuff
practices use all day.

A selection of projects involving complex workflows, research, and the systems that hold large products together.

Patient Demographics redesign

Practice Management

Patient Demographics

UX Research · Product Design · Iteration

An approved redesign received difficult feedback after launch. I went back to billing and coding users, led nine research sessions, and designed targeted improvements that made the new experience work better without abandoning the card framework.

Unified practice management and EHR dashboard

Platform Strategy

Unified Practice Platform

Platform Design · UX Architecture · Service Mapping

Bringing practice management and EHR into a more connected experience for small medical practices. I helped define the workflows, navigation, and shared design foundation without creating another separate product to maintain.

Customized components beside standard Material 3 components

Design Infrastructure

UI Modernization

Design Systems · Angular Material 3 · Accessibility

Years of customization had left our component library blocking framework upgrades. I worked with Engineering on the transition back to standard Material 3 and established the component guidance, accessibility standards, and design resources to support it.

Research library showing the patient journey service map

Research Infrastructure

Research Knowledge Library

Research Architecture · UX Operations · AI-Assisted Research

Years of useful customer research were scattered across teams and tools. I built a searchable knowledge library that brings together discovery findings, customer feedback, and service maps so teams can find what we've already learned.

PatientPop Connect

Making text messaging work for more practices

Product Design · UX Research · Experience Architecture

PatientPop's text messaging service had low adoption. I researched why, then brought web-to-text and an automated attendant together into one offering, with self-service onboarding and a single inbox for the front desk.

Patient Transaction History

UX Research · Financial Workflows · Product Design

A required technology upgrade gave us an opportunity to rethink how billing staff review patient financial activity. I researched the existing workflow and redesigned the history around visits, configurable views, and details that stay in context.

About

I design for the moments that matter most in people's work.

I'm a UX architect and product designer with twenty years of experience across healthcare software, financial products, and design systems.

I've spent much of my career working on complicated products that people rely on to do their jobs. That means understanding how they work, finding the friction in their day, and designing something better within the realities of an established product.

My work ranges from detailed interaction design and customer research to experience architecture, shared component libraries, and mentoring other designers. I enjoy both the big structural decisions and the small details that make an interface easier to use.

I'm currently exploring remote opportunities where I can contribute as a hands-on senior designer or UX architect.
